Bring home some Joy

Joy

Hi, I’m Joy! I really live up to my name as I’m a Joy to anyone who visits me at New Hope. I have been at the rescue since December 10th of 2020 (that’s almost a year and a half!) I came in with my sister, Jingles, as a kitten. My sister recently got adopted and I’ve been a little lonely since then, but I’m still joyful.

I’m often overlooked by adopters at the rescue because my eyes are very runny. I have a virus called feline herpesvirus, which is very common and most cats here at the rescue actually have it (yours at home probably do too.) I just happen to react more severely to it, just like some people suffer more from allergies than others. I take a gel vitamin supplement daily, called lysine, that helps me stay healthy. Once I can find a home outside of the shelter environment, I probably won’t need lysine as much, as stress triggers feline herpesvirus reactions.

Please come visit me today if you need a little ‘Joy’ in your life!
